ACTIVITY: LIBRARY SKILLS
NAME: SYAZA IZZATI BINTI ISMAIL
I was assigned the task of finding a book based on the
course we took, newspaper, and journals. When, I went to the library, I was
very excited because it was the first assignment given to me by the lecturers,
and the same time I was nervous because it was my first time stepping into the
library at University Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).
When I entered the library, I was amazed at the sophistication in the Unimas library. I didn’t have to search for books on every shelf because of the sophistication of the gadgets in the library. We just type the name of the book in the gadget and the gadget tells us where the book is located and at what level. This gadget also makes it easy for students and citizen of unimas. This assignment has given me the experience as a new student to recognize such a comfortable learning environment. This library is very comfortable for me because not only has a comfortable learning space but the library in Unimas also provides computers for students who want to find information about learning.

As a student who love read books, I was thrilled to
find the book layout in the library very neat. This makes it easier for me to
find the book. Not only that, there are many book options such as notebooks and
exercise books in one shelf. In addition, many students spend their time
in this library doing their assignment. The library in Unimas also open 24 hours. Okay, back
to my ealier story, we were directed by a lecturer to borrow a book to find
information about the author, year of publication and to take a picture of the
book as evidence. The process borrowing book here is very good and the staff at the counter also very friendly and kind.
